Burwell, Robert B., Mississauga, Ont.; McGill University, 1948; internal medicine; FRCPC; former staff, Queensway General Hospital. Died Mar. 29, 2001, aged 76; survived by his wife, Jean, and 3 children.

Chisholm, Arthur W., Peterborough, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1949; internal medicine; AACP, FRCPC; former staff, Division of Cardiology, Sunnybrook Medical Centre; associate professor, University of Toronto. Died Mar. 5, 2001, aged 75.

Cowan, Robert D., Waterloo, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1942; general surgery; FRCS(Ed.), FRCSC; RCAMC, WW II. Died Mar. 22, 2001, aged 84; survived by his wife, Muriel, and 3 sons.

Faris, John W., Hamilton, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1949; general practice; RN/RCN, WW II; former staff, Hamilton Civic Hospitals. Died Mar. 14, 2001, aged 80; survived by his wife, Jean, and 2 sons.

Feldman, David L., Hamilton, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1968; internal medicine; FRCPC; former staff, St. Joseph's Hospital; lecturer, McMaster University. Died Mar. 20, 2001, aged 56.

Guthrie, Brooklin, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1947; former surgical staff and chief of staff, Oshawa General Hospital; consulting staff and chief of staff, Whitby General Hospital; medical director, Fairview Lodge. Died of brain cancer Mar. 16, 2001, aged 76; survived by his wife, Joy, and 3 children. His obituary stated: “He was Brooklin's country doctor for 50 years, and sometimes cared for 4 generations of the same family.”

Grobin, Wulf, Toronto; University of Basel (Switzerland), 1934; internal medicine; LRCP(Ed.), LRCS(Ed.), LRFPS(Glas.), FACP, FRCPC; former staff, Mount Sinai Hospital and Baycrest Geriatric Centre. Died Mar. 11, 2001, aged 89; survived by his companion, Ida Parsons, and a son.

Love, William R., Orangeville, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1954; MCFP; former staff, Dufferin–Caledon Health Care Corporation. Died Mar. 23, 2001, aged 72; survived by his wife, Elga, and 4 children.

Luciani, Donato N., Richmond Hill, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1949; psychiatry; FRCPC; former staff psychiatrist, Mental Retardation Centre; clinical teaching staff, University of Toronto. Died of cancer Mar. 17, 2001, aged 75; survived by his wife, Dianne, and 4 children.

MacKenzie, John R., Mooretown. Ont.; University of Toronto, 1954. Died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis Mar. 21, 2001, aged 70; survived by his wife, Doris, and 4 children. His obituary stated: “He was a devoted physician and surgeon in Sarnia for 43 years.”

Marshall, Maurice M., Lethbridge, Alta.; University of Alberta, 1946; diagnostic radiology; MACR, DABR, FRCPC; former staff, Lethbridge Municipal Hospital. Died Mar. 24, 2001, aged 79; survived by his wife.

Miller, John S., Creston, BC; Dalhousie University, 1939; former staff, Creston Valley Hospital. Died Mar. 8, 2001, aged 87.

Provencher, Jean-Paul, Victoriaville (Qué); Université Laval, 1956; ancien membre du personnel agrégé de l'Hôtel-Dieu d'Arthabaska. Décédé le 25 décembre 2000, à l'âge de 72 ans.

Ross, Stephen R., North York, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1960; general surgery; FACS, FRCSC; former staff surgeon, North York General Hospital. Died Mar. 23, 2001, aged 67; survived by his wife, Dr. Sandra Moody, 5 children and 2 stepchildren.

Royer, Albert, Mont-Tremblant (Qué.); Université de Montréal, 1943; hematologie/pédiatrie; FISH, FAAP, FRCPC; membre du Corps de santé royal canadien durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale; ancien membre du personnel du département du pédiatrie de l'Hôpital Sainte-Justine; professeur à l'Université de Montréal. Décédé le 28 février 2001, à l'âge de 83 ans; laisse son épouse Georgine et cinq enfants.

Sansregret, Jean, Montréal (Qué.); Université de Lille II (France), 1955; obstétrique. Décédé le 11 février 2001, à l'âge de 76 ans.

Soanes, Stuart E., Grimsby, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1964; former staff, Trafalgar Professional Centre. Died Feb. 26, 2001, aged 62.

Tabah, Edward J., Montreal; McGill University, 1942; general surgery; FACS, FRCSC; RCAMC, WW II; former associate surgeon, Royal Victoria Hospital and Centre Hôpital Côte-des-Neiges; member, Order of Canada. Died Mar. 2, 2001, aged 83; survived by his wife, Pauline, and 2 sons. His obituary in the National Post stated: “He had a profound influence on cancer care in this city. Through his association with McGill University he trained several generations of outstanding surgical colleagues. He cofounded the Cedars Cancer Institute at the Royal Victoria Hospital and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for his years of tireless service there.”
