Delaquis, Hubert, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Université de Montréal, Montréal, Quebec, 1947. Died Mar. 5, 2008, aged 86.

Farrell, Jean Clare, Hamilton, Ontario; University of St. Andrews School of Medicine, Dundee, Scotland, 1951, anesthesiology. Died Mar. 3, 2008, aged 81. Dr. Farrell was the assistant medical officer of health in Hamilton, Ontario, and then qualified as a psychiatrist; she practised psychiatry in the Simcoe, Ontario, area, until she was over 70 years of age. Dr. Farrell had a passion for ornithology and was a devoted parishioner at St. Ann's Church in Ancaster, Ontario, where she was a eucharistic minister. Dr. Farrell was predeceased by her husband, Jim, and is survived by her children, Mark, Janet, Therese and Jacqueline, and 9 grandchildren.

Finn, John Henry, Wellesley, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1951. Died Mar. 3, 2008, aged 83.

Gagnon, Normand B., Saint-Lambert, Quebec; Université de Montréal, Mont-réal, Quebec, 1958, otolaryngology. Died Mar. 2, 2008, aged 76.

Hardin, Isidore, Calgary, Alberta; University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, 1943. Died Oct. 27, 2007. Following his internship in Saskatoon, Dr. Isidore joined the Canadian Army and was posted to Calgary, Alberta, to care for returning troops. He spent 1946 to 1951 as a general practitioner in Oyen, Alberta, then did a dermatology residency in the United States. He practised as a dermatologist in Edmonton, Alberta, from 1954 until 1987. He was very active in Edmonton's Jewish community, the Masons and B'nai Brith. Dr. Isidore is survived by 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Houston, Frederick H., Hamilton, Ontario; University of Leeds, Leeds, England, 1942, psychiatry. Died Feb. 29, 2008, aged 90. Dr. Houston is survived by his wife, Doris, daughters, Sandra and Jacquie, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Hrab, Stanley William, Guelph, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1964, psychiatry. Died Feb. 19, 2008, aged 67.

Kimmett, Lindsay Leigh, Calgary, Alberta; University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, 2009. Died Feb. 17, 2008, aged 26.

Kuckertz, Berta E., Edmonton, Alberta; Friedrich-Wilhelms Universtät, Bonn, Germany, 1953. Died Feb. 25, 2008, aged 86.

Lazure, Denis, Montréal, Quebec; Université de Montréal, Montéal, Quebec, 1952, psychiatry. Died Feb. 23, 2008, aged 82.

Lehmann, Eric Carl Hillerns, Vancouver, British Columbia; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1945, orthopedic surgery. Died Feb. 17, 2008, aged 86.

McFarlane, Donald Cecil, London, Ontario; University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, 1951, ophthalmology. Died Mar. 5, 2008, aged 81. Dr. McFarlane was predeceased by his wife Frances Margaret and is survived by his wife Llynda, children, David, Karen, Donald and Joanne, stepchildren, Amanda and Sarah, and 14 grandchildren.

McKishnie, John Reynolds, West Lorne, Ontario; University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, 1954. Died Mar. 1, 2008, aged 78. Dr. McKishnie is survived by his wife, Dr. Eunice, sons, John and Dr. Jamie, and 3 grandsons.

Mheir, Abdul Halim, Outremont, Quebec; Université de Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France, 1956, diagnostic radiology. Died Feb. 29, 2008, aged 82. Dr. Mheir is survived by his wife, Yvonne Lord, and children, Farid and Mariam.

Moffat, William Wright, Oakville, Ontario; McGill University, Montréal, Quebec, 1954, general surgery. Died Feb. 29, 2008, aged 79. Dr. Moffat is survived by his wife, Tilla, children, Andrea, Stephanie and Marcia, and 2 grandchildren. Dr. Moffat's “compassion, warmth and wisdom will continue to guide us all.”

Phillips, Mary Elizabeth, Edmonton, Alberta; McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, 1982, ophthalmology. Died Mar. 7, 2008, aged 53

Schmok, Arthur Christian, Osoyoos, British Columbia; University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, 1954. Died Feb. 20, 2008, aged 88.

Stacey, Caroline Rose (nee Hirsch), Hamilton, Ontario; University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, 1976, ophthalmology. Died Mar. 1, 2008, aged 56. Dr. Stacey is survived by her husband, Sid, and children, Genevieve, Kathleen and Madeleine. She was predeceased by her daughter Rachael.

Van Norden, Julia Jacoba, Vancouver, British Columbia; Rijksuniversiteir te Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands, 1949. Died Feb. 26, 2008, aged 89.

Wiley, James Joseph, Ottawa, Ontario; University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, 1963, orthopedic surgery. Died Mar. 4, 2008, aged 78. Author of You just can't hardly believe it (General Store Publishing House, 1989), a book of humorous vignettes about his patient encounters.
