Andrews, Leslie Gerald, Vancouver, British Columbia; University of London, London, England, 1952, pediatrics. Died Feb. 5, 2008, aged 78.

Antuna, Faustino, Tracadie-Sheila, New Brunswick; Universidad de Salamanca, Salamanca, Spain, 1964. Died Feb. 10, 2008, aged 69.

Blevis, Leon Samuel, Dundas, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1954, general pathology. Died Feb. 13, 2008, aged 79. Dr. Blevis was predeceased by his wife, Nancy, and survived by his children, Ira, Eli and Bayla, stepchildren, Douglas and Dafydd, and 5 grandchildren.

Bowman, Doreen Virginia, Vancouver, British Columbia; University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, 1966. Died Feb. 10, 2008, aged 65.

Chan, Raymond Yin, Markdale, Ontario; National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, 1964, general surgery. Died Feb. 13, 2008, aged 72.

de Groot, Hero Berend Struivig, Carrying Place, Ontario; Rijksuniversiteit te Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands, 1940, general surgery. Died Feb. 1, 2008, aged 92.

Fortin, Louis-J., Hatley, Quebec, McGill University, Montréal, Quebec, 1950. Died Feb. 12, 2008, aged 87.

Garner, Margaret Jennifer, Mount Brydges, Ontario; University of Bristol, Bristol, England, 1970. Died Feb. 16, 2008, aged 63. “Dr. Margaret,” as she was known to her patients, served the community of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, for 25 years as a family physician, and in obstetrics, anesthesiology and the emergency department. She won the Glen Sawyer Award from the Ontario Medical Association for dedication to her profession.

Harvey, John Edgar, Victoria, British Columbia; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1943, neurosurgery. Died Feb. 5, 2008, aged 95.

Haworth, Derek Holden, Calgary, Alberta; University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland, 1948. Died Feb. 5, 2008, aged 83. Dr. Haworth was an avid outdoorsman and accomplished mountaineer and rock climber who garnered many awards. He is survived by his wife, Tine, and children, Elaine, David, Jim and Audrey.

Hildebrand, Henry Daniel, Abbotsford, British Columbia; University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, 1956, vascular surgery. Died Feb. 13, 2008, aged 76. A former resident writes: “He had so many fine qualities for a young resident like me to wish to emulate. His surgical skill was peerless. A rare surgical athlete, he possessed speed, precision and deftness of touch. He was the conductor in the operating room and all eyes were on his movements and subtle gestures.”

Mason, Jackson Yeusen John Martin, Thornhill, Ontario; University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, 1957. Died Feb. 28, 2008, aged 80.

Matthew-Joseph, Mabel Quintina, Chaguanas, West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago; University College of Cork, Cork, Ireland, 1961, family medicine. Died Nov. 10, 2007, aged 73

McNabb, Alan Robert, Hamilton, Ontario; University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, 1946, internal medicine. Died Feb. 21, 2008, aged 84. Dr. McNabb helped to found the McMaster Medical School and retired as a professor of medicine. He is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Audrey, and is survived by his children, Anne, Peter and Scott, and 5 grandchildren.

McQuade, Patrick John, Stratford, Ontario; Cambridge University, Cambridge, England, 1952. Died Feb. 12, 2008, aged 79.

Nguyen, Khoi Ba, Toronto, Ontario; Université de Saigon, Saigon, Vietnam, 1959, internal medicine. Died Feb. 17, 2008, aged 75.

Padeanu, Floare, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Universitas de Medicinae et Pharmaciae, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 1966. Died Feb. 3, 2008, aged 67.

Parker, K. Ross, Burlington, Ontario, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1956; family medicine. Died Feb. 24, 2008, aged 77. Dr. Parker is survived by his wife, Vodia, children, David and Liane, and 2 grandchildren.

Rastogi, Pratap Narain, North York, Ontario; Lucknow University, Lucknow, India, 1952, pediatrics. Died Feb. 28, 2008, aged 81.

Rhine, Joseph Elliot, Ottawa, Ontario; Victoria University of Manchester, Manchester, England, 1961, anesthesiology. Died Feb. 12, 2008, aged 70.

Rudnick, Kasmar Vincent, Hamilton, Ontario; Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, 1951, family medicine. Died Feb. 11, 2008, aged 83. After practising family medicine for 17 years, he spent the next 17 years in academic family medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Marie, children, James, Linda and Shelagh, and 7 grandchildren.

Shaver, Elspie Roberta Ella, Brampton, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1938. Died Feb. 18, 2008, aged 95.

Thejane, Lehlohonolo Ramotlabaki, Wynyard, Saskatchewan; University of Natal, Congella, South Africa, 2004. Died Feb. 15, 2008, aged 27.
