Died Nov. 19, 2003, aged 88; survived by his wife, Jean, and 2 children. “He was a Conservative MLA for 23 years, serving as minister of education, provincial secretary and leader of the Opposition. He continued to see patients until a few weeks before his death. Former premier Pat Binns said: “It is hard to think of West Prince and O'Leary without thinking of Dewar and the role he has played.”

Died of a brain hemorrhage Aug. 27, 2003, aged 72; survived by her husband, Dr. Ian, and 2 sons. Her husband told reporters: “In the 1950s she was the only female doctor west of Edmonton. We were jacks of all trades.”

Died Aug. 30, 2003, aged 88; survived by his wife, Emma, and 2 daughters. His daughter Patty stated: “He will be remembered for his love of life, his sense of humour and his story telling. He loved to make people laugh.”
