2022, Journal of Affective DisordersCitation Excerpt :On the other hand, patients with CVD can suffer from depression which is often chronic and recurrent. It has been reported that the relationship between CVD and depression is not just a transient reaction to a cardiac event, as depression for many patients exists for months or years before and persists long after the event (Glassman et al., 2006; Hance et al., 1996; Huffman et al., 2011; Suzuki et al., 2010). A better understanding of the relationship between CMR and depression is needed to improve prevention and care for cardiometabolic disease and depression.
