Loving father of Heather Cox and her husband Regan of Guelph, Gord and his wife Margie of Ancaster, Paul and his wife Nalini of Toronto, and Anne Holton and her husband Billy of Ancaster.”

Died Aug. 16, 2005, aged 98. “He was the recipient of prestigious medals including 5 from WWII, The Queen's Coronation Medal, The Canadian Centennial Medal, the University of Toronto Chancellor's Medal and Life Memberships with OMA, OPHA, OCPH, FAPHA (American) and MRSH (English). His beloved wife, Betty, was by his side as he made his final journey.”

Died Sept. 16, 2005, aged 91. “Flight Lieutenant (MD) in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII; former Chief of Staff at Oshawa General Hospital and family doctor in Oshawa for over 40 years. Beloved husband of the late Muriel Vivian (nee Clemes).”

Ross, Lorne Edward, Atlin, BC; Queen's University, 1952. Died Sept. 1, 2005, aged 83. “He attained the rank of Captain serving in the 21st Battery, 6th Field Regiment, R.C.A. during WWII. He was awarded the Military Cross for valor at Buckingham Palace by King George the VI. During the war he met Tineke, a nurse in Holland. They were married overseas in 1945 and returned to Canada at war's end.”

Waldorf, Verne Ross, Oakville, Ont.; Dalhousie University, 1953, general pathology. Died Sept. 7, 2005, aged 76. “Survived by his wife, Janice, his daughters Lee, Susan and Elizabeth, and granddaughter Alexandra. Verne wanted to leave his wish, for all those that he had known, that their lives might be as happy, rewarding, interesting and filled with love as his had been. He will be dearly missed.”
Wishart, James Melrose, Peterborough, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1943, anesthesia. Died Sept. 7, 2005, aged 88. “Major in the Canadian Army Medical Corp to 1945. He and his wife, Evelyn, were tireless and generous supporters of their community. He is survived by children David, Laurie and Jean, and 9 grandchildren.”
Vaughan, David Raymond Roderick, Delta, BC; The Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff, 1964, obstetrics and gynecology. Died Sept. 11, 2005, aged 66. “A respected anesthetist at the Peterborough hospitals for over 45 years, medicine was Jim's life passion. Many will mourn the passing of someone who served his community with generosity, both professionally and as a volunteer. He will be missed by all his colleagues, friends and patients. He leaves his wife, Kit, children William, Sian, Rod (Samantha) and 3 grandchildren.”
