Died Aug. 28, 2001, aged 48; survived by her husband, Dr. Hugh O'Brodovich, and 2 children. “She specialized in the treatment of children with blood clotting disorders. She established the Canadian Thrombophilia Society and the 1-800-No-Clots service that enabled her to treat children from around the world.”

Pura, Andrew P., Oakville, Ont.; University of Manitoba, 1990; family physician; former staff, Queensway Health Centre and Oak Park Medical Clinic. Died in a traffic accident Nov. 9, 2001, aged 37. The accident also claimed the life of his wife, Margaret. Colleague Katherine Bury commented: “He was an avid golfer and motorcyclist who loved music, travel and adventure.”
Rabkin, Fred B., Winnipeg; Queen's University, 1946; general practice/ surgery. Died Sept. 19, 2001, aged 85; survived by his wife, Sarah, and 2 children. “He graduated with honours. At age 15, he became one of the youngest students ever to attend the University of Manitoba. He graduated number one in his class at Queen's and became known as the ‘flying doc’ after establishing the airport in Kamsack, Sask.”
