This is a very important issue for physicians dealing with fever and associated symptoms in a returning travellers from a malaria endemic areas. High degree of suspicion and recognition is very important for reducing prolonged sickness. I agree early recognition will reduce cost and time for unnecessary investigation. In the past I looked in to 389 patients in 1990 reference on Lancet.(2)
