Letter to the Editor
It is with dismay that the Motherisk Program has ended. This was a valuable program in the life of thousands of pregnant women their physicians and women in general.
Although the program was sponsored, it does not preclude the value of the advice given without bias by hundreds of supervised clinical trainees. Many women appreciated this unique program that provided evidence based information so they could make informed choices. For those who opposed this program it is up to them to find the funding to re-establish this unique program. The lost of Motherisk is a tragedy.

Surely pharmacists have a significant role to play in advising pregnant and breastfeeding women about the use of drugs. They should be included in the planning for any new agency.

Just to remind you that motherrisk destroyed hundreds of lives. Any reincarnation must have protocols so that the data cannot be used by law enforcement or judicial services.
