I'm sorry the writers of that article made incorrect assumptions about the law. The Canada laws are patterned after the US ones and none of the versions from 1998 and including the one in effect now have ever covered crock pots or any cooking vessel. The only covered items in either of our countries are
Flatwear, small hollowware, large hollowware, cups or mugs, and pitchers.The FDA talked about standards for cooking wear, but never got around to it.
So theoretically, even US or Canadian cooking ware could be lead glazed. And lord help people who buy from individual crafts people. They need to investigate how these people work, their firing temperatures and glaze composition.
