Barry, Michael Paul, Montréal, Quebec; University of Manitoba, 1948, diagnostic radiology. Died Sept. 22, 2007, aged 96. He is predeceased by his wife, Marie-Jeanne Tremblay, and survived by his daughter, Frances, and grandson, Sean McIntyre. Dr. Barry was born into a pioneering family in Redberry Lake, Saskatchewan. He obtained his medical degree after an 11-year recovery from tuberculosis and went on to serve as the director of the Regina TB Clinic for 25 years.

Desrosiers, J.A. Jacques, Anjou, Quebec; Université Laval, 1958, obstetrics and gynecology. Died Sept. 11, 2007, aged 76.

Duerden-McDonald, Deborah K., Halifax; Dalhousie University, 1992, family medicine. Died Oct. 11, 2007, aged 42.
Ewing, Gerald Hay, Nanoose Bay, British Columbia; University of Edinburgh, Scotland, 1955, internal medicine. Died Oct. 2, 2007, aged 76. Dr. Ewing was predeceased by a daughter Gillian. He is survived by his wife, Violet, and children, Christopher and Helen. Dr. Ewing was born in Kirkburton, England. After graduating from medical school, he served 4 years in the Royal Air Force. In 1964, he immigrated to Canada with his family, where he continued his professional career in cardiology and internal medicine. He established the renal dialysis unit and was the head of medicine at the Regina General Hospital. Later, he became the medical director of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina and was a professor of medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. He was influential in the building of the new cancer centre in Regina in 1996 and a medical laboratory was named in his honour. After retiring to Vancouver Island, he enjoyed gardening, boating and playing bridge.
Fahey, Philip James, Jacksonville, Florida, United States; National University of Ireland, 1955, urology. Died Sept. 3, 2007, aged 78.
Grocott, Hubert Clifford (Hugh), Regina, Saskatchewan; University of London, 1954, pediatrics. Died Sept. 30, 2007, aged 86. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, daughter, Ruth Grimes, sons, Hilary and Simon, and 8 grandchildren. Dr. Grocott was the former director of the Saskatchewan government's Child Health and Maternal Welfare department.

Maille, Jean-Guy, Laval, Quebec; Université de Montréal, 1955, anesthesiology. Died Oct. 12, 2007, aged 77.
Moriarty, Michael Victor, Vancouver; University of London, 1960, internal medicine. Died Oct. 9, 2007, aged 72.
O'Mahony, Albert Thomas, Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador; National University of Ireland, 1966. Died Oct. 22, 2007, aged 64. “Dr. O'Mahony leaves to mourn his loving wife of 36 years, Donna; sons Michael and David; daughter, Ashling; mother, Bridie; sister, Miriam; and many relatives, friends and colleagues. Dr. O'Mahony arrived in Newfoundland in the early 1960s and moved to Clarenville in 1969 to practise rural medicine. Initially, he was the only physician in the community and, for a while, operated a clinic out of his home. Dr. O'Mahony was highly respected for always going above and beyond the call of duty in his passion and commitment to patient care. Up until the time of his passing, his patients could still depend on him to make house visits.”
