Davis, Murray McCulloch, Halifax; Dalhousie University, 1944, obstetrics and gynecology. Died Dec. 6, 2006, aged 86. “Born in Truro, NS, he sang in the chorale at King George VI's coronation, London, 1937. He was life class president of his medical school class and went straight to service in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. Dr. Davis was the first resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Halifax hospitals under the eminent Dr. H. B. Atlee. He delivered over 10 000 babies at Grace Maternity and Old Halifax Infirmary hospitals, where he also served as President of the medical staff. Dr. Davis was the founding director of the Well Women's Clinic in Halifax and also developed one of Canada's first gynecological-urology clinics at the Infirmary. He was the first Canadian to serve on the board of the American Gynecological-Urology Society, 1978–82. He was Assistant Professor at Dalhousie Medical School in his discipline, and he authored several publications. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther Hardwicke, after 60 years of marriage.”
Krizova, Olga (nee Moravkova), Orillia, Ont.; Charles University, Czech Republic, 1958. Died Dec. 1, 2006, aged 73. “Dr. Krizova graduated from medical school cum laude. She practised medicine as a district physician in Kraslice and later in Ceske Budejovice in the Czech Republic. She came to Canada with her family in 1968 and accepted a position as a staff physician at the Huronia Regional Centre in Orillia, Ont., retiring in 1993. Olga was known as a loving, caring and professional person. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Svetamir Kriz and sons, Paul and Martin.”
Lamb, Ewart Reynolds, Ancaster, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1943. Died Dec. 5, 2006, aged 88. “Ewart interned at the Hamilton General Hospital, where he met Eileen, his wife of 57 years. As a captain in the army, Ewart was stationed in Halifax. After their return to Hamilton, he practised family medicine until 1988 and was a coroner for many years. Well-respected as a physician and community-minded, Ewart was a member of the Board of Education 1950–61, becoming Chairman of the Board in 1961. He was a member of the Orpheus Choir and, for over 40 years, of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Ewart was a loving and supportive husband to Eileen Lamb (predeceased) and a devoted father to Peter (Livia), Beverly (John), Paul and Scott (Juliette).”
Leask, David Ernest, Waterloo, Ont.; University of Cape Town, South Africa, 1961, general surgery. Died Dec. 3, 2006, aged 68. “Following completion of his surgical fellowship in England and Scotland, David came to Canada in 1967. He was well-respected within his community during his 33 years as a general surgeon. David was a mentor and non-judgmental counsellor to numerous young people and set a precedence of dignity, courtesy and respect for all he met. He will be missed by his wife, Sally, children, and grandchildren.”
Leicester, Joseph, Kelowna, BC; University of Manitoba, 1946, orthopedic surgery. Died Nov. 24, 2006, aged 84.
MacKenzie, Donald Hugh Horton, Toronto; University of Toronto, 1954, internal medicine. Died Dec. 2, 2006, aged 77. “Upon completion of post-graduate studies in internal medicine, he returned to the University of Toronto and began an illustrious career that spanned 5 decades. As a physician at the University of Toronto Health Service and a professor with the Faculty of Physical Education and Health, Don was associated with excellence at the University. He was instrumental in creating the Reception for Scholars, the Faculty of Physical Education and Health, and has continued his support with the MacKenzie Scholarship. The Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Princess Margaret Hospital and the Shaw and Stratford Festivals all benefited from his generosity. Don had a passion for the water, which encompassed the Varsity Blues Water Polo and diving exploits throughout Ontario, the Atlantic and the Caribbean. He was a pioneer of Canada's diving community and one of the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI)'s first Canadian instructors.”

Siviolotti, Enzo Ugo, Delaware, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1962. Died Dec. 4, 2006, aged 72. “Beloved husband of Kathryn Kovacs and father of Nicole Ronald (Robert), of London, Denise Ditty (Michael), of Wellesley, and Jennifer Sivilotti (Jamie Niedbala), of Kingston. Predeceased by his son, Andy.”
Smith, Eric Lawrence, Vancouver; McGill University, 1949, ophthalmology. Died Dec. 4, 2006, aged 87.
Tesler-Mabe, Eduardo Benjamin, Richmond, BC; Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1961, psychiatry. Died Dec. 4, 2006, aged 69.
