Outside of his medical practice, he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, curling and family vacations. He was an avid photographer. He was known for his ‚toys', particularly his luxury cars. A pioneer of forensic psychiatry, Ed had a long and illustrious career including such positions as Director of the Forensic Clinic of the Toronto Psychiatric Hospital, Medical Director of the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, Psychiatrist-in-Charge and Director of the Metropolitan Toronto Forensic Service and Professor Emeritus of Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
