Banik, Satya Ranjan, Saskatoon; University of Calcutta, 1956, psychiatry. Died June 25, 2005, aged 74. Survived by his wife, Dipti, and his children, Laurie, Paul and Tony.

Cooper, Everett Alexander, Lennoxville, Que.; McGill University, 1941, obstetrics and gynecology. Died July 22, 2005, aged 90.

Chow, Robert Chiu Mo, Mississauga, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1971. Died July 14, 2005, aged 72.

Dupont, Claude G., Mont-Royal, Que.; Université de Montréal, 1952, plastic surgery. Died Nov. 27, 2004, aged 78.

Dupré, Georges-Henry, Sorel-Tracy, Que.; Université Laval, 1943. Died Jan. 1, 2005, aged 87.

Ellison, Lucille Georgina, Vancouver; University of Manitoba, 1945. Died Apr. 9, 2005, aged 83.

Farlinger, Fraser Alexander, North Bay, Ont.; McGill University, 1947. Died June 26, 2005, aged 82. “Fraser was the cherished husband and best friend of Alice Brillon (Bond). Loving father of Arlene Primrose (Brian), Barbara Snedden (Ken), Gordon Farlinger and survived by their mother Lois, all of New Liskeard.”

Findlay, John Davies Picken, Prescott, Ont.; University of Glasgow, 1967. Died Apr. 7, 2005, aged 61.

Galway, H. Paul, Ottawa; University of Western Ontario, 1959, pediatrics. Died July 27, 2005, aged 72, from complications of diabetes and kidney failure. Survived by his wife Lorna, and his children Carol Ann and John. Private practice in Ottawa for 13 years and staff of CHEO Emergency from 1977-1993.

Graham, Donald Bruce, Manchester, Tenn.; University of Toronto, 1974. Died Apr. 1, 2004, aged 54.

Griffiths, Anthony John Martin, Bridgewater, NS; University of London, 1944, diagnostic radiology. Died June 26, 2005, aged 86. “He was the beloved husband of the late Monica (Kemp) Griffiths. He is fondly remembered by his son, Andrew (Lynn) and his daughters, Sheila Fielding, Jennifer Griffiths (Douglas Margison) and Victoria Keith (Charles).”

Guselle, Robert Deighton Wilson. Oshawa, Ont.; Queen's University, 1950. Died July 6, 2005, aged 80.

Higgins, John Ivan, Collingwood, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1946. Died June 14, 2005, aged 83.

Hodgson, Gordon Hughes, Bath, Ont.; University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Medical School, 1954, anesthesia. Died July 22, 2005, aged 75.

Mizbah, Geoffrey, Oakville, Ont.; University of Liverpool, 1945, general surgery. Died June 30, 2005, aged 83. “He obtained his FRCS (Canada) and F.I.C.S. During his years in northern Ontario, he took leave to do charity work for CESO as a surgeon to St. Kitts and Nevis, and for the British Methodist church in Nigeria as surgeon in Ilisha for his medical school compatriot Dr. Andrew Pearson. He is survived by his loving wife Helene who has ably assisted him for 52 years. He is also survived by his nephew Frank Wirtz and family, his sister Elizabeth Hillier-Fry and husband Norman.”

Pelmear, Peter Leonard, Truro, Cornwall, UK; University of London, 1951. Died July 15, 2005, aged 77.

Rothwell, G. Sheldon, New Westminster, BC; McGill University, 1937, obstetrics and gynecology. Died July 12, 2005, aged 93. “He left us to join his beloved wife, Kathleen (2004). He is survived by his son, Dr. R.S. Rothwell, his daughter, Mrs. Dee Alspach (Reg), his grandsons, Michael (Katie), Dano (Kelly), and Wed, and his extended family. His memory was blessed by a great-grandson on July 18, 2005.”

Schmidt, Ernest Wilfred, Saskatoon; McGill University, 1951, obstetrics and gynecology. Died June 27, 2005, aged 82.

Smith, Douglas Mitchell, Edmonton; Cambridge University Medical School, 1956, obstetrics and gynecology. Died June 14, 2005, aged 75.

Smith, Sydney Alwyn, Westmount, Que.; McGill University, 1948, internal medicine. Died May 15, 2005, aged 82.

Stephen, Lawrence John, Dauphin, Man.; University of Manitoba, 1955, family medicine. Died July 4, 2005, aged 77. “Lawrie was a loving father, husband and friend who wanted the best for his family, friends and patients. He was a ‘doer’ who brought quality and excellence to rural practice and community life. He was also a gifted photographer. He was proud of the fact that one of his pictures hangs in the national office of the CMA in Ottawa.”

Trotier, Guy, Quebec; Université Laval, 1950. Died May 12, 2005, aged 86. “Merci aux parents et ami(e)s qui m'ont témoigné leur sympathie de quelque façon que ce soit, lors du décès de mon père, surveneu le 12 mai 2005. Veuillez considérer ces remerciements comme personnels.”

Yue, Kam-Yiu, London, Ont.; College of Medicine National Taiwan University, 1964, otolaryngology. Died July 13, 2005, aged 67.
