Duxbury, James H., Victoria; McGill University, 1953; urology. Died suddenly while walking near the family cottage on Sept. 25, 2004, aged 77; survived by his wife, Trudie, and children Beth, Sue and Marnie. “We will always remember his thoughtfulness and compassion, his gentle encouraging manner, his quiet sense of humour and the wonderful example he personified for us of a faithful Christian and a true gentleman.”

Died Sept. 9, 2004, aged 83; survived by his wife, Ruby, and 3 children. “In addition to his wife and family, Tal's greatest love was for their summer home on the shores of Emma Lake, Saskatchewan.”
Hunter, William S., Toronto; University of Toronto, 1956; ophthalmology; FRCSC; former senior ophthalmologist, St. Michael's Hospital, Associate professor, departments of Ophthalmology and Pathology, University of Toronto, and medical director, Ontario Medical Association–CNIB Medical Mobile Eye Unit. Died Sept. 25, 2004, aged 73; survived by his wife, Jane, and his children James and Jennifer. “He dedicated his life to his family, his patients and those in need, many of whom he did not know.”
Lougheed, William M., Barrie, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1947; neurosurgery; FRCSC; Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto. Died Sept. 30, 2004, aged 79; survived by his partner, Margot, and his children Stoney, Bill, George, Joey and Bubba. “Teacher, innovator, boat builder, Georgian Bay adventurer and surgical pioneer, he devoted his career to the creation and advancement of neurovascular surgery in Canada.”
Morgan, John E.E., Lethbridge, Alta.; University of London (UK), 1941; obstetrics and gynecology; FRCOG, FACOG, FRCS(S); former staff, St. Michael's General Hospital, Picture Butte Hospital, and the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital. Died Sept. 3, 2004, aged 87. His daughter Susan wrote: “He practised in the Lethbridge area for almost fifty years. He loved his work and was devoted to his patients. His children remember many a Sunday afternoon waiting in the car while he did his hospital rounds and housecalls. He will be missed.”
Puodziukas, Julius G., Richmond, Tex.; University of Western Ontario, 1974. Died Oct. 2, 2004, aged 59; survived by his wife, Irena, and children Paul, Audra and Michael. “Julius lived a full life, realizing his dreams of family, friends, and medicine. He learned the science of medicine, and practised it as an art, always touching patients and colleagues with his humour, compassion and kindness.”
