Bach, Joan M., Sherwood Park, Alta.; University of Alberta, 1977; former staff, Grey Nuns Community Hospital and Health Centre; clinical instructor, University of Alberta. Died July 2, aged 51.

Bouchard, Jean-Paul, Gatineau (Qué.); Université Laval, 1957; psychiatrie; LMCC; ancien membre du personnel du Centre hosptalier de Gatineau et du Centre hospitalier Pierre-Janet; directeur des services externes et des services professionnels à l'Hôpital Pierre-Janet de Hull; professeur adjoint à l'Université d'Ottawa; récipiendaire de la médaille du Gouverneur général en 1952. Décédé le 3 juillet 2004, à l'âge de 72 ans; laisse son épouse, Cécile, et deux enfants.

Cahoon, Errol B., Etobicoke, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1943; psychiatry; FRCPC; former head, Division of Psychiatry, St. Joseph's Health Centre; staff, Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Died July 5, 2004, aged 87; survived by his wife, Freda, and 2 children.

Hutton, William F., Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1951; obstetrics/gynecology; FRCSC; Maj., RCAMC; former chief, Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital; consultant, Plummer Memorial Hospital; medical advisor and president, Canadian Cancer Society, Algoma District. Died July 7, 2004, aged 77; survived by his wife, Evelyn, and 1 son. He delivered over 13 000 babies during his 46-year career.

Kinsella, T. Douglas, Kingston, Ont.; McGill University, 1957; rheumatology; FACP, FRCPC; former attending staff, Foothills Hospital; director, Division of Rheumatology and Immunology, attending staff, and consulting staff, laboratory medicine, Calgary General Hospital; assistant dean, medical bioethics, director, Rheumatic Disease Unit and professor, University of Calgary; chair, medicine and scientific community, The Arthritis Society. Died of cancer June 15, 2004, aged 72.

Laing, Charles A., Windsor, Ont.; McGill University, 1952; general surgery; FACS, FRCSC; RCN, WW II; former staff, Metropolitan General, Grace and Hotel Dieu hospitals. Died of cancer July 8, 2004, aged 79; survived by his wife, Ann. A Windsor Star reporter stated: “He was a local pioneer in specialty surgery practice.”

MacIntosh, Mary L., Grafton, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1963; psychiatry; former staff, Clarke Institute of Psychiatry. Died July 7, 2004, aged 80.

Marshall, Mary-Anne, St. John's; Memorial University, 1991; family medicine; CCFP; former casualty medical officer and staff, St. Clare's Mercy and Salvation Army Grace General hospitals; staff, emergency medicine, Baie Verte Hospital. Died July 6, 2004, aged 38; survived by her daughter, Katie.

Morgan, Donald A., Fredericton; Dalhousie University, 1967; obstetrics/gynecology; FRCSC; former staff and chief of staff, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital; vice-president medical and chief of staff, Region 3 Hospital Corporation; president, New Brunswick Medical Society; chair, Council on Health Care committee, CMA. Died June 28, 2004, aged 64; survived by his wife, Ann, and 4 children. “He was a physician leader in the capital area, the province and nationally with the CMA. He encouraged the establishment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.

O'Neill, Ira T., Trenton, Ont.; Queen's University, 1956; former staff, Ontario Hospital, Kingston, Ont. Died July 4, 2004, aged 72; survived by 1 son. “He will be fondly remembered for his youthful exploits in scientific experimentation, for his encyclopedic knowledge and for his love of his cats.”

Phaneuf, Jean, Saint-Hyacinthe (Qué); Université Laval, 1947; anesthésie; FRCPC; ancien membre du personnel de l'Hôpital Honoré-Mercier. Décédé le 2 juillet 2004, à l'âge de 83 ans.

Regehr, Walter M., Edmonton; University of Saskatchewan, 1968; CCFP, FCFP; former courtesy staff, and chair, palliative care committee, Royal Alexandra Hospital; assistant professor, University of Alberta. Died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma Sept. 28, aged 61; survived by his wife, Marlene, and 2 children. “He loved cross-country skiing, walking his dog, baking bread, reading and most of all, spending time with his family.”

Sheridan, J. Timothy, Winnipeg; National University of Ireland, 1968; former attending physician, Riverview Health Centre. Died June 30, 2004, aged 69; survived by his wife, Philo, and 3 children.

Weaver, E. Gwendolen, University of Toronto, 1933, general practice; pediatric staff, St. Catharines and Hotel Dieu hospitals. Died Oct. 6, 2004, aged 97. Her niece Margaret said, “She practised in St. Catharines for 50 years.”

Wilson, Edward M., Edmonton; University of Alberta, 1953; MCFP; physician, RCAF; former staff, Edmonton Grey Nuns Hospital; associate staff, Edmonton General Hospital. Died July 23, 2004, aged 77; survived by his wife, Mary Kathleen, and 3 children. His son said, “He loved flying, military history, opera and of course, medicine.”
