Died Dec. 27, 2004, aged 76; survived by his wife, Ilse (Holler), his children Sheila, Ruth, David, James and 7 grandchildren. Dr. Pond received a fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (1972), the 50th Anniversary Medal – Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists (1987), and the Order of the Red Cross, Officer Level (1992).
