Died Apr. 6, 2004, aged 80; survived by his wife, Gracey, and 6 children. “He was a pioneer in cardiovascular surgery. He co-developed the cardiac pacemaker and performed the first open-heart surgery in Canada and the first complete repair of the blue baby malformation.”
