Just a simple remark: I am an International Medical Graduate who applied for Family Medicine programs all over Canada in the CaRMS for the past five years. I passed all MCC exams and hold the LMCC. I also passed USMLE Steps 1,2, and 3. Have the ACLS and ATLS and no language problems whatsoever. So... why discriminate when evaluating applicants for Family Medicine programs? and why complain? My story is very long, and my endeavours were turned down without any mercy. I won't say any in this letter, but what I said in the survery done for the IMGs by staff in medical schools in Alberta, the solution is very simple; stop discrimination, be reasonable so that IMGs don't follow non-ethical ways for getting through, which I have no doubts many are doing. And why not as long as this is encouraged and nurtured by the gate-keepers. Regards. A dead doctor.
