Positive-pressure technique for nasal foreign body removal in children

Ann Emerg Med. 1995 Apr;25(4):554-5. doi: 10.1016/s0196-0644(95)70274-1.

Abstract

Positive-pressure technique for the removal of nasal foreign bodies in children is an effective alternative to restraints and instrumentation, yet it is underused. A retrospective chart review in a community hospital over a 2-year period yielded 64 cases of pediatric nasal foreign bodies. Eight cases are presented in which the positive-pressure technique was used.
