Died Mar. 27, 2005, aged 91; survived by his wife, Dr. Sonia, children, Pixie, John, Dan and Bill, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. “Bill was recognized internationally as the father of Canadian heart surgery … As a loving father and grandfather, Bill led by example, demonstrating the importance of loyalty and the power of positive thinking and perseverance.”
