Died Feb. 1, 2005, aged 86; survived by his children, Arthur and Carol, and 2 grandchildren. “During his lifetime, Dad touched countless lives through his medical practice and tireless work in the community…A loving father, role model, mentor and friend, Dad will remain in our hearts forever.”
Telford, Kenneth M., Victoria, BC; McGill University, 1940; internal medicine; FRCPC; Dr. Telford served as an army medical officer during WWII. After the war, he completed postgraduate studies at McGill University and the Hammersmith Hospital, London, England, before returning to British Columbia where he practised until his retirement in 1982. Died June 8, 2004, aged 91; survived by his wife, Grace, and his children Malcolm, Gordon and Allison, as well as 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. An avid gardener and tennis player, Dr. Telford was active in the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club and the Victoria Tennis Club, as well as the Canadian Club, the Knights of the Round Table and the Canadian Institute of International Affairs. “Dr. Telford practised medicine on a very personal basis, getting to know his patients extremely well. Many became lifelong friends. He was good company and always had a fund of amusing stories. Tall, erect, elegantly dressed and gregarious, he enjoyed the company of his many friends to the end of his life. He will be greatly missed.”
