Died in a plane crash Jan. 17, 2004, aged 51; survived by his wife and 3 children. Colleague Cassie Harnarine told the Chatham Star: “He was the first fully trained orthopedic surgeon ever to set up practice in Chatham. He was a pleasant, down-to-earth man who was liked by everyone.”

He also ... introduced them to the classic comedians of the twentieth century.”

Died Apr. 13, 2004, aged 83; survived by his wife, Naomi, and children, Dr. Sherry, Peter and Leslie. Sherry said, “He began his career in general practice in Nipawin, Sask., a period that provided colourful stories of rural practice, including life-saving emergency neurosurgery from a propped up textbook!”

He took a keen interest in the history of Moncton and its surrounding areas for which he had an encyclopedic memory.”

Died of cancer Apr. 10, 2004, survived by his wife, Margaret, 4 children and 2 stepchildren. His wife told the Toronto Star: “People always knew the big, imposing man had a gentle soul who wanted to help children. He would walk into a room and people knew he was a special person.”

Known for his pragmatic intellect, devotion, determination and courage, he unhesitatingly took his medical acumen and missionary spirit to where it was needed most: theatres of war, revolution and social upheaval.”
